Elevator IoT Digital Monitoring Solution

Upgrade analog elevator monitoring to HD video, digital video intercom and real-time elevator telemetry — over the cables already in the shaft, with no re-wiring of the car.

The limits of legacy analog systems

Conventional elevator monitoring pulls analog video and intercom audio through long traveling cables: image resolution is limited, calls are noisy, and the emergency button often rings only in an unmanned machine room. Aged cabling with splitters hidden in inaccessible corners makes fault-finding genuinely hard.

System architecture

The camera, video intercom and elevator data acquisition in the car reach the IP network over a single existing coaxial cable — no traveling-cable replacement.

ETL-210C

Coax HD transmission box

ETL (Ethernet Transparent Link) applies HiDes' core COFDM technology to run a transparent Ethernet link over a single existing coaxial cable — HD video, two-way intercom and control data together. Reaches up to 500 m over 3C2V coax, so an HD upgrade needs no replacement of the elevator traveling cable.

EAD

Elevator data acquisition unit

The EAD (Ethernet elevator data acquisition unit) taps the elevator controller's signals for live floor position, direction, door state and safety-circuit status. Each EAD is an independent IP node on an open Modbus architecture, ready to integrate with industrial monitoring; on any anomaly it logs the time, elevator ID, floor, cause and the controller logic waveform, with built-in self-test and scheduled-test functions. It also accumulates maintenance data — daily running hours, per-floor usage, door open/close counts, slow-close counts — supporting ride-quality and utilization analysis.

IP/SIP

Digital video emergency intercom

Fully digital audio-video intercom replaces the analog handset: two-way calling, preview monitoring and full-call recording, with emergency-button events tied to NVR footage for easy retrieval. Every intercom station is an independent IP node; answering stations can be added anywhere the network reaches, and staff phones can answer emergency calls and receive button-event notifications over 4G/Wi-Fi.

CMS

Monitoring platform

A web-based management platform with per-user permissions and full action logging. The overview page lists every elevator's floor, direction, status and active faults; the per-elevator page combines live video with complete state; the connection page watches the health of every device on the network — NVRs, intercoms, EADs, cameras. Eleven event and anomaly types are recorded, with statistics charts and printable reports.

S-Box

Build-to-order

Analog integration gateway

Where re-cabling isn't yet an option, the S-Box parallels the existing analog emergency intercom, bridging analog audio and AHD/CCTV video into SIP video intercom and RTSP/ONVIF streams: it dials out over SIP when the call button rings, or reaches landlines and mobiles via FXO. Nothing changes inside the car, the legacy analog intercom and CCTV keep working in parallel — and the same approach upgrades emergency intercoms in factories, car parks, campuses and care facilities.

Benefits

  • HD upgrade over existing cables — simple works, sharply lower cost
  • Fully digital audio and video: clear calls, far better image quality
  • Emergency calls never go unanswered: multiple stations plus mobile answering
  • Every device is an independent IP node, managed and tested remotely
  • Open Modbus standard integrates with existing industrial monitoring
  • Legacy analog systems keep running in parallel — migrate in stages

Built to grow

The architecture is built to grow: mobile fault notifications, in-car digital signage streaming, big-data predictive diagnosis on accumulated EAD records, and AI video analytics — suspicious-behavior alerts, automatic entrapment alarms, passenger counting for dispatch optimization.

Track record

Deployed and in service across Chang Gung–affiliated hospitals and Formosa Plastics Group facilities.
